The Dixon Fire continued to be active, especially along its southern edge on Tuesday. Firefighters worked tirelessly through the night to keep control lines secure and protect homes in the area.
On Wednesday, crews are focusing heavily on air support to aid fire suppression efforts. Aircraft have played a crucial role in holding the fire, with water drops helping ground crews manage the active fire lines. On Forest Service Road 1610 and the 100-spur road, crews will extend their mop-up operations, working to extinguish any remaining fuels within the fire’s perimeter. They’re using a combination of hand lines, dozer lines, pumps, and portable water sources. Falling crews are removing hazardous trees along Tiller Trail Highway to ensure safety.
